JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - PT SGMW Motor Indonesia (Wuling Motors) has expected to seize the confidence of the Indonesian automotive market in the next 2-3 years.
Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM) Wuling Motors Cindy Cai acknowledged that Wuling understood that the strengthening of their brand image could not be done instantly.
"The reinforcement of the brand cannot take a moment, it takes time, Wuling itself must be able to prove that Wuling has the best products and services for the people of Indonesia," said Cindy on the sidelines of Wuling Family Gathering Day, Saturday (10/21/2017), at Ancol Carnival Beach, Jakarta.
Wuling when entering Indonesia was not only dealing with competition from old players who had already qualified in the Indonesian automotive market, but also facing the still strong stigma against Chinese products, especially automotive.
The stigma was the aftermath of a Chinese motorcycle invasion that had struck Indonesia in the mid-2000s, but left a big question about product quality until the clarity of the post-sale service network.
In dealing with this, Wuling continuously educates the public by ensuring that they are in Indonesia for the long term and serious, as evidenced by the huge investment for their factory in Cikarang as well as the serious measure of developing a sales network which is also required to include standardized after-sales service.
While in terms of products, Wuling continues to put their products as the most superior in the affairs of value for money, both from the purchase and the cost of ownership that includes the cost of care.
"Clearly we are explaining continuous education about the factory, the service and the product, and so far we have seen the response is positive," said Brand Manager Wuling Motors Dian Asmahani.
The manifestation of this is the good number of orders and the achievement of 2,212 wholesales since July-September. Even in September, Wuling managed to subvert the Japanese brand that entered with new products in the segment of Low MPV, Mitsubishi Xpander, for wholesales business, with 1,391 units of Wuling, and 1,096 units of Xpander.
