Chinese Enterprise Considers Electricity Investment with Kaltara

NUNUKAN, NETRALNEWS.COM - Gezhoiba Group, a business group from China, is interested in investing in North Kalimantan province of Kaltara in the electricity sector and the construction of international industrial and port area (KIPI) at Mangkupadi Bulungan District.

The potential fo investment was followed up with a meeting between the Governor of Kaltara, Irianto Lambrie with Vice President of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co. Ltd., Mrs. Ma Yingying on Wednesday (10/18/2017).

Irianto Lambrie said the meeting discussed the company's desire to invest in Kaltara.

Gezhoiba Group built the largest hydroelectric dam in the world called "Three Georges" which is capable of generating power of 22,500 megawatt (MW) with electricity sales revenues averaging at US$20 million per day.

He added that the China-based company is also engaged in infrastructure, construction and industry, therefore, the company is interested in investing in KIPI Mangkupadi with the scheme OBOR-BRI – an economic cooperation scheme between Indonesia-China.

On that occasion, a team from Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co.Ltd scheduled to visit the Province of Kaltara to conduct an initial survey or assessment on October 22-24, 2017.

The potential investment received many positive responses from local communities in hopes it will advance and improve their livelihood.
