Coal Contribute 45.82 Percent of Total Transactions at TEI

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The 2017 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) on October 11-15, 2017, has managed to post total transaction of $1.41 billion or equivalent IDR18.70 trillion. This number increased 37.36 percent compared to last year's $1.02 billion.

For the acquisition of product transactions in TEI 2017 recorded $1.28 billion, up 55.91 percent compared to last year amounted to $823.06 million. Coal became Indonesia's flagship product that occupies the first position of acquisition of product transactions in TEI 2017.

"The transaction reached $588 million, equivalent to 45.82 percent of the total transactions" said Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita, in Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2017).

According to Enggartiasto, other products that successfully attract buyers are coffee that resulted in transactions amounting to $91.62 million (7.14 percent), essential oils of $80.43 million (6.27 percent), processed foods $78.61 million (6.13 percent), and CPO of $69.58 million (5.42 percent).

Meanwhile, based on data from the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI), demand in the services sector in TEI 2017 amounted to USD 41.37 million, slightly down from last year's earnings of $48.53 million or down 14.76 percent.

Director General of National Export Development Arlinda conveyed, with the concept of business to business (B2B), TEI 2017 has also facilitated the signing of 37 MoU purchasing missions from 19 countries. The value reached $231.87 million, an increase of 11.50 percent compared to the 2016 TEI of $207.96 million.

The highest transaction value is based on the order of the countries on TEI 2017 purchase mission, namely Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Egypt, Thailand, Australia, India, Brazil, Belgium, USA, UK, Japan, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Nigeria, Taiwan, and the Netherlands.

"The series of transaction processes carried out during TEI continues. There are still buyers who will follow up some purchase transactions outside the exhibition, "explained Arlinda.

A total of 100 buyers from 26 countries also follow business matching with Indonesian companies. Products of great interest are food and beverages, tires, seafood, furniture and furnishing, and spices.

Countries with the largest business matching transaction value are Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, India, and Russia. There have been 196 meetings or an average of 50 exporters per day resulting in a prospective transaction with a total value of $ 91.02 million.
