JAKARTA, NNC - One of the mainstay variants of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (PT MMKSI) in the segment of Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for Pajero Sport has recorded sales of 120,000 units since it was first launched in 2009.
Mitsubishi in Indonesia has also locally assembled Pajero models, ranging from the best-selling variant of Dakar (4x2, Ultimate 4x2 and 4x4) in 2017 to Exceed 4X2 AT and GLX 4X4 MT assembled at Mitsubishi plant in Bekasi, Java West, this year.
"This launch is part of the appreciation of MMKSI to consumers who have shown high enthusiasm for the Pajero Sport model in Indonesia which was first launched in 2009. Now sales have reached 120,000 units," said President Director of PT MMKSI Kyoya Kondo, Wednesday (1/17/2018).
"Dakar type dominates up to 80 percent," explained Marketing Director of PT MMKSI Irwan Kuncoro.
Pajero Sport also dominates sales in the 4x4 SUV class and becomes the market leader with 60 percent market share. While in the 2.5L SUV segment (Mid-SUV), Pajero has 40 percent market share. The sales of Pajero Sport throughout 2017 amounted more than 18 thousand units.
With such sales performance, Mitsubishi strives to continue delivering innovations to offer products that meet customer needs.
"This is also our effort to provide products that fit the needs and desires of the people of Indonesia, so it is expected the presence of both variants of Pajero Sport can be enjoyed by people who want to have the best SUV vehicle with a more affordable price," said Kyoya Kondo.
