Village Minister: Next Year Village Funds to Increase to IDR73-80 Tln

JAKARTA, NNC - The village funds as of this year amount to IDR60 trillion. There is a discourse for the government to raise it in 2019 to IDR73-80 trillion. The planned increase in village fund disbursement from the government is because so far village funds are assessed to have a significant impact on village development.

The planned increase in the 2019 village funds considered previous years in 2015 which amounted to IDR20 trillion, 2016 IDR46.9 trillion, 2017 IDR60 trillion and 2018 IDR60 trillion. From year to year the amount of village funds continues to increase.

"In the future, God willing, the village fund will go up to IDR73-80 trillion," said Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Region and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) Eko Putro Sandjojo, Tuesday (6/5/2018).

The village fund is currently implemented in a labor-intensive manner without the use of contractors. Minister Eko explained that labor intensive and self-management aim to make village funds fully settled in the village. This is in particular the regulation requires 30 percent of the total development of village funds is used for workers' wages.

"Starting this year all the village funds must be self-managed, no longer allowed using contractors," he said.
