EAST JAVA, NNC - Minister of Village Development, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) Eko Putro Sandjojo on his sidelines visit to Pacitan East Java on Tuesday (6/26/2018) again said that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is likely to raise the Village Fund up to IDR80 trillion.
He asserted that President Jokowi had ordered the finance minister to raise the village funds.
"It all depends on the absorption of village funds this year, if the absorption is good then next year the village funds will be raised," said Minister Eko.
Village funds are funds for village development that must be managed by self-managed system, the construction of projects with village fund should not use contractors. In addition, it is mandatory that 30 percent of the village funds are allocated as budget for workers' wages.
"With the wages it would make the money circulation in the village higher, by five-fold, hopefully the economy in the village will grow fast," said Eko.
Surely, the hope of the Village Minister during the period is clear that the village funds absolutely provide assistance to the village community. The point is that villagers can progress and be economically independent.
"With the village funds, we hope there will be no more areas or villages left behind, because with the village funds it will be able to build many things such as infrastructure, empowerment and other development," concluded Minister Eko.
