JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs will transform the e-Warong service into a digital service by using an application. This is conducted to improve the performance of e-Warong and maximize services for the beneficiaries.

Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, said this policy was based on direct evaluation in the field which was carried out some time ago. Several aspects should be noted, such as inappropriate commodity prices and inadequate accessibility.

"In the future, we will prepare applications that allow digital-based services. This is expected to improve services and make it easier for beneficiaries," Risma said in Jakarta, on Sunday (05/30/2021).

Through digital services, it is hoped that the beneficiaries can make transactions more easily and get more economical commodity prices.

"Later, the buyer only needs to press a button on the cell phone. Thus, it is more practical and easier to get to the community at a more affordable price," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

The e-Warong is an extension of the Indonesian government in distributing non-cash Social Assistance for underprivileged citizens. Through this system, each social assistance and subsidies will be distributed non-cash using the banking system. The goal is to reduce deviations, ease of control, and be on target, on time, and precise amount.

Not only does it serve as a place to buy basic necessities, e-Warong also functions as a mini Automatic Teller Macine (ATM) that serves social assistance disbursements, non-cash shopping, open savings accounts, cash deposits and withdrawals, transfers, payments for electricity, telephone, BPJS, PAM, installments, tickets, electricity tokens, and even credit.

Moreover, 3-kilograms LPG gas cannisters can only be obtained at e-warong. The ATM used is a card called Combo.
