BELGIUM, NETRALNEWS.COM - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sister City or twin cities with Namur Mayor Maxime Prevot on education, economic, cultural and environmental cooperation in Namur, Belgium, Monday (10/09/2017).
Mayor Maxime Prevot to Antara London, after the signing of the MoU, said it is a great opportunity for the region to establish cooperation even though the population is only 110 thousand inhabitants compared with the population of the City of Bandung amounting to millions of lives.
Maxime added that the MoU would serve as a bridge for the two cities to agree on various fields.
He said Namur wants to establish cooperation with the City of Bandung in various aspects ranging from environment, education, culture, information technology and economy and business.
He admitted that the town is small but what is important is the content of the cooperation which is a great opportunity for both cities to establish agreements.
"The reality is that there is a tendency that Western countries are looking to Asia. So, we want to learn from Indonesia and Bandung to be a good place for us to learn many things," said Maxime Prevot who is planning to Bandung next year.
Ridwan Kamil said his presence in Belgium carried three missions, that is, signing a sister city partnership between Bandung and Namur, inaugurating SME product promotion center from Bandung called Little Bandung and participated in enlivening the Europalia festival held in Belgium.
"I came here carrying three missions, the signing of sister city, inaugurating the center of promotion for SME products known as Little Bandung Mobile, and Europalia," he said.
