JAKARTA, NNC - Survey result by survey firm Indo Barometer shows that Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is the strongest candidate to accompany Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto to fight in the 2019 Presidential Election.
"The strongest name for vice-presidential candidate of Prabowo is Anies Baswedan," Indo Barometer Executive Director M Qodari said in the presentation of a survey titled 'Who is the Potential Challenge for Jokowi in 2019?' at a hotel in Senayan area, Jakarta, Sunday (12/3/2017).
Besides Anies, the name of vice president who also juxtaposed with Prabowo in the survey is Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) President M Sohibul Iman, National Mandate Party (PAN) Chairman Zulkifli Hasan and Chairman of National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar.
Qodari added votes for Anies voice are higher because of the Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada). "If like this Mr. Prabowo's level of favorite should be improved. Anies Baswedan is quite high because it is through Pilkada of Jakarta," he said.
In the simulation survey conducted by Indo Barometer on four Prabowo couples, Prabowo-Anies was in first place with 31.7 percent.
Meanwhile Prabowo-Sohibul pair got 16.3 percent, and Prabowo-Zulkifli Hasan only got 4.1 percent, and in last position Prabowo-Muhaimin only grabbed 2.6 percent.
While respondents who do not know or do not answer as much as 35.3 percent, have not voted for 4.8 percent, 3.4 percent secret, and will not choose 1.8 percent.
To note, Indo Barometer conducted a survey in 34 provinces in Indonesia and involved 1,200 respondents aged over 17 years. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.83 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
The survey was conducted by multistage random sampling with data collection on November 15-23, 2017. Data collection was conducted through face-to-face interviews with respondents using questionnaires.
