BNPB Claims Enough Logistics for Lombok Survivors

Logistics for Lombok earthquake survivors’ basic needs are sufficient. Logistics assistance also continues to be distributed.

JAKARTA, NNC - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Information and Public Relations Center, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, claims that the logistical stock for Lombok's earthquake survivors’ basic needs is sufficient. Logistics assistance also continues to be distributed.

"Stock logistics is sufficient to meet the basic needs of survivors. Moreover, assistance continues to come from various parties," Sutopo said, Monday (8/20/2018).

"Efforts to deal with the emergency situation continue to be intensified. Acceleration of assistance in repairing damaged houses continues to be carried out," added Sutopo.

Likewise, improvements to public facilities such as hospitals, health community centers and emergency schools were accelerated while waiting for the stages of rehabilitation and reconstruction later on. Market operations to fulfill basic needs and the availability of basic ingredients also continue to be carried out.

Aftershocks from the 6.9 SR earthquake continued to occur until this morning. Until Monday (8/20) at 11.00 Central Indonesia Time (WITA), 101 aftershocks have taken place with nine earthquakes felt 

"People are encouraged to remain calm and alert. Don't be provoked by misleading issues or news. Hoaxes are still rampant in Lombok and Sumbawa," Sutopo said.
