32,129 Earthquake-Damaged Houses in Lombok Have Been Verified

JAKARTA, NNC - Data collection and verification of houses damaged due to the Lombok earthquake continue to be carried out in seven districts/cities in Lombok and Sumbawa Islands.

Officers continue to verify according to the level of damage to the house, that is, whether the house is severely damaged, moderately damaged or slightly damaged according to the owner's name and address. Even in some areas there are also photos of the houses.

Temporary data until Wednesday (8/29/2018) showed there are 83,392 damaged housing units, of which 32,129 housing units have been verified. Of the 32,129 damaged houses that have been verified, there are 16,231 housing units severely damaged, while the rest are moderately damaged and slightly damaged.

"The number of damaged houses can still increase considering the data collection process is still ongoing. Officers from the Public Works Office (PU), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Regional Work Unit (SKPD) and volunteers are still collecting data," said the Head of Information Data Center and Public Relations of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, Wednesday (8/29).

Distribution of the 83,392 units damaged houses are 23,098 units (verified 12,493 units) in North Lombok Regency, West Lombok 37,285 units (11,787 units), East Lombok 7,280 units (3,121 units), Central Lombok 4,629 units (3,246 units), Mataram City 2,060 units (1,482 units) and Sumbawa 9,040 units (unverified).

BNPB has provided home improvement assistance of IDR250 billion. BNPB has also submitted an additional budget to the Ministry of Finance for housing repair assistance.

"Efforts to accelerate home improvement continue to be carried out. There are 20 sample houses with earthquake resistant concept of RISHA (Instant Simple Healthy Home) technology," said Sutopo.
