BENGKULU, NNC - Another incident hit Lion Air airline. One of its Boeing 737-900ER aircraft flight JT-633 from Bengkulu-Jakarta failed to take off, after the plane's wingtip hit a pole at the VIP gate at Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, Bengkulu, on Wednesday, Nov 7. According to information received by NNC, the incident began when passengers started boarding the aircraft at 5:50 p.m. (Western Indonesian Time) and taxied out towards the runway at 6:15 p.m. to prepare for take off. It then attempted to avoid a Batik Air plane parked in front of the VIP gate, but eventually nudged a pole near the VIP gate.

As a result, its left wingtip was torn and its light shattered. Meanwhile, Fatmawati Soekarno Airport Public Relations, Agus Adhi Saputra, says he is unaware of the incident as he was not at the scene. "I'm not sure, I just picked up a guest. The airport will confirm it," he said.
The plane was forced to park at 6:50 p.m. and the passengers deboard the plane and returned to the airport's waiting room.
