Social Affairs Ministry Conducts Social Service in North Sulawesi (kemsos)

TOMOHON, NETRALNEWS.COM - As part of a series of activities to commemorate the National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN) 2020, today on Friday (12/18/2020), a Social Solidarity Month (BBKS) is held. In this activity, the total assistance from the Indonesian Ministry of Social is worth IDR6,030,000,000.

In his remarks, acting Minister of Social Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, represented by Director General of Social Empowerment Edi Suharto, invited everyone to reconstruct the spirit of social solidarity as it had been inflated during the struggle against colonialism. Social solidarity at that time was able to put aside all differences and unite against oppression.

Likewise, when this nation is facing a pandemic, he calls on all elements of society, especially social pillars, such as Subdistrict Social Welfare Workers, Youth Organizations, Community Social Workers (PSM), social workers, and other volunteers, to close ranks and unite against the pandemic.

"I inspire initiatives from the public to carry out joint movements driven by noble values ​​and national culture such as mutual cooperation, virtue, solidarity, spirituality and local values ​​of virtue. Let's do our best with a productive work ethic while praying that our efforts will get pleasure from God," Edi Suharto said in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, on Friday (12/18/2020).

BBKS is a routine activity carried out in commemoration of HKSN every year. Among the goals are to help the less fortunate local people.

"Especially during the pandemic period where many people are affected. Social service is a real step by the Ministry of Social Affairs to always be present in the public and carry out its obligations in implementing Social Welfare," he said.

The assistance that is distributed, apart from the Ministry of Social Affairs, is also assistance from partners or the Corporate Social Responsibility Program to 15 Regencies/Cities in North Sulawesi, including a rapid test for 12,000 people (10,000 from the Ministry of Social Affairs, 1,000 from Pertamina, 1,000 from Medco E&P.

Assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs's domestic grant funds of IDR6,030,000,000 includes assistance for mass Rapid tests of 10,000 packages worth IDR600,000,000.

There is also subsequent assistance for 84 KUBE worth IDR1,680,000,000 in districts/cities in North Sulawesi for the town of Tomohon at KUBE Sinambey, Kinilow Village; and the construction of 150 houses unfit for habitation worth IDR2,250,000,000.

Assistance was also distributed by partners including Bank BRI, AMCF (Asia Muslim Charity Foundation), YSKI (Yayasan Surya Kebenaran Internasional), YKTD (Yayasan Kasih Tuna Daksa), YPP (Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih), ConocoPhillips, as well as Ladenta, among others.

There are various forms of assistance in the form of basic necessities, school equipment, Muslim clothing equipment, various tools for disabilities, and so on.

The peak of the HKSN commemoration will be held on December 19, 2020, with strict health protocols.
