The preparation of tracers and vaccinators is a continuation of instruction from Indonesian President Joko Widodo to speed up the COVID-19 control in Indonesia by strictly implementing 3T and 3M.

In the Assembly of Bhayangkara Fostering Public Security and Order (Bhabinkamtibmas) and Health Workers Preparation as COVID-19 Tracers and Vaccinators at Metro Jaya Police in all over Indonesia on Thursday (2/11/2021). Polri chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said Polri was ready in supporting and helping all COVID-19 handling program especially the tracing and vaccination.

Polri's form of seriousness in helping COVID-19 handling are by providing about 13,500 vaccinators, which 900 of them are trained by Health Training Centre, while the rest 12,600 will follow the training soon. Polri has also prepared 40,335 personnel of Bhabinkamtibmas which are spread in 34 provinces of Indonesia as tracers.

"They are prepared to help the vaccination, especially the vaccination for Polri workers and public citizens," Listyo said.

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that to finish the COVID-19 handling, especially the tracing and vaccination for 181 million Indonesians, the Ministry of Health needs collaboration from various parties, including TNI and Polri.

"We need a different model of defense and weaponry by combining the Indonesian Army, the Police, and the Ministry of Health," he said.

The Minister of Health explained how the government is in the middle of strengthening the effort of 3M and 3T implementation as the main key to cut the COVID-19 contagion chain. His office realize that in order to do the two programs, a huge number of human resources are needed.

For tracing, about 30 tracers are needed for 100,000 citizens who are spread in all over villages. To finish the case tracing for 269 million people, 80,000 tracers are needed.

"We do not have that many people. That is why, we need to work with Indonesian Army and the Police to carry out the surveillance function to identify the "enemy", by involving 80 thousand tracers," he says.

Besides strengthening the tracing, another effort done by the government to speed up the COVID-19 handling is vaccination for 181 million Indonesians.

Through two vaccine doses, there will be 363 million vaccine doses needed. If the target is to finish it in a span of one year, there will be one million people who receive vaccination in one day.

"It is impossible for us to do it alone; that is why we cooperate with Indonesian Army and the Police. We hope it can help the surveillance strategy as tracers and the vaccination strategy as vaccinators," he explains.

To all Bhabinkamtibmas, tracers, and vaccinators, the Head of Polri instructs them to keep their cooperation with Babinsa and Health Service in each area. It is expected from the three of them to cooperate for speeding up the decrease of COVID-19 contagion.
