Social Affairs Minister Visits Disability Care Center in Palembang (kemsos)

PALEMBANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs wants to ensure that services for people with physical disabilities run well through the ATENSI Spirit.

Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, visited the Budi Perkasa Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (BRSPDF) in Palembang. The Minister was greeted by Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru.

Accompanied by the ranks of the Directorate at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Risma and her entourage observed the process of honing the skills and abilities of persons with disabilities.

At the same time, the Minister of Social Affairs provided orthosis aid or locomotion support to Natasha Azzahra (10 years old) who has special needs.

The orthosis was made by the BRSPDF Palembang. In addition, food packages were symbolically given to a Beneficiary Recipient (PM) with a family-based disability. The food package comprises of 30 basic food packages in collaboration with CSR from BCA.

The PMs with a family-based disability said they was happy with the food packages from the Ministry of Social Affairs, especially before the arrival of the Eid Al-Fitr which was expected to relieve and help the PM's families.

Amid the visit to BRSPDF Palembang, the Minister of Social Affairs met with the family of Bharatu (Posthumous) I Komang Wira Natha, a Bhayangkara soldier who died during the Nemangkawi operation.

"To all the nation's children in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, we should prioritize the unity of the Republic of Indonesia rather than the interests of groups," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Risma gave a certificate of appreciation for the dedication of I Komang Wira Natha in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Minister of Social Affairs also provided compensation of IDR15 million and compensation for the fulfillment of minimum basic needs and children's education worth IDR100 million for social assistance.
