CIBOKOR, NETRALNEWS.COM - Heavy rain that occurred in Babakan Cingkeuk Village, Cibokor Village, Cibeber District, Cianjur Regency, on Friday (06/04/2021) caused flooding and the landslide of a 70-meter cliff.
The disaster forced residents to evacuate to safer locations. A total of 38 families consisting of 121 people are in Refugee Command Post 1 at Pesantren As Salam, while 54 families consisting of 192 people are in Command Post 2 at MI Persis 56 Cibitung.
The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, through Phala Martha Center, responded quickly to the disaster by assigning an Emergency Response Team consisting of social workers and social counselors.
The quick response is in line with the direction of Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini so that each Ministry of Social Affairs' center must immediately respond to various social problems that occur around their respective areas.
"The Ministry of Social Affairs handed over assistance in the form of rice, instant noodles, toiletries, milk, baby food, clothing, personal hygiene equipment, and medicines with a total aid value of IDR7 million for residents affected by the disaster," said Andi, one of the social counselors of the Ministry of Social Affairs who went to refugee location.
Andi said that for psychosocial support services, the Emergency Response Team interacted with displaced residents to listen to the stories they experienced so as to provide psychological reinforcement to them according to the direction of the Head of the Phala Martha Center, Cup Santo.
It is known that there were no fatalities in the disaster, but based on data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), five houses were heavily damaged and 12 other houses were moderately damaged.
