JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - One of the social pillars is the Peace Pioneers (Pordam), who are part of the Directorate of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims (PSKBS) at the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.
Pordam or peace pioneers are tasked with preventing conflicts between communities that often occur in communities throughout Indonesia.
Joko Priyono, a peace pioneer from East Java, explained the skills that must be possessed by a person who serves as Pordam.
"You have to analyze the movements that lead to friction in the community, Pordams must be able to anticipate these issues before they happen," Joko Priyono said in a podcast or broadcast episode 34 on the channel of the Director General of Social Protection and Security, on Friday (06/11/2021).
A Pordam is a community social volunteer who is assigned the task of handling social conflicts. The social conflicts in question include friction between tribes, disputes for territorial boundaries, social inequality, and cultural gaps that can be anticipated by Pordam.
"To anticipate here is not only seeing and reporting, but also seeing and taking real action to prevent this from happening," he added.
Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) is one of the activities carried out by Pordams with the LDP Expert Team of the PSKBS Directorate. The support consists of psychological experts. Together with LDP, Pordams mahe efforts to approach the families of the victims who were in shock, sadness and confusion.
The Peace Pioneers themselves were inaugurated in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province, in December 2020.
