India Hosts Culinary Exhibition to Increase Bond Between Nations

Festival of Indian cuisine will be present in Jakarta.

JAKARTA, NNC -  The Indian Embassy in Jakarta will host a culinary festival titled "Flavors of India" to strengthen India and Indonesia relations through food.

India's Deputy Ambassador for Indonesia, Prakash Gupta, said India and Indonesia have many similarities, including a history of more than 3,000 years, the culture and wealth of spices in its cuisine. From there he believes that food is the best way to win the hearts of Indonesians.

The Flavors of India culinary festival will be held at Seasonal Tastes Restaurant of Hotel Westin Jakarta, March 12-28, 2018 by presenting Indian cuisine experts from Mumbai's JW Marriot Hotel, Chef Nandan Singh Dhami.

Gupta added, in addition to almost similar taste of cuisine, India and Indonesia also have the same value about food, that it is not only as a source of energy for the body, but also one form of love.

"What is unique to India and Indonesia is that food is not just a source of energy, but a medium to show love to families and people closest to us, so I hope our Indian cuisine can convey Indian people's love to the people of Indonesia," Gupta said. , Friday (3/9/2018).

During the festival, the Westin Hotel will serve over 50 types of cuisine ranging from appetizers, main menu, desserts, to snacks.
